Ancient Koa

Upcountry Waimea,
Big Island of Hawaii

In ancient Hawaii koa symbolized health, wealth and wellbeing. To this day, koa canoes are made from the esteemed wood. In fertile soil it can grow to 100 feet tall with a trunk as wide as ten feet in diameter.

In upcountry Waimea you will find koa trees nestled among the rolling hills of the famed Parker Ranch. You may get a glimpse of the mist hauntingly caressing the koa trees.

Our enchanting Waimea.
