Magnificent Makana

Makena State Park, Maui, Hawaii

This glorious, picturesque 3,300 foot long and 100 foot wide beach is truly one of the nicest beaches on Maui. Also known as Oneloa Beach, Big Beach and Big Makena Beach, its aqua-azure waters ebb gently onto the sand while heavens of glorious clouds flow over Haleakala. It is a favorite spot for diving and snorkeling because of its clear waters.

Aqua azure waters ebb gently onto Makena Beach. Feel the warmth of the ocean’s breeze gently caressing your face while inhaling the energy of a tropical shoreline.

Maui, the second largest island in Hawaii, is truly a land of enchantment. Known as the Valley Isle, Maui has two separate volcanoes forming the island, the West Maui Mountain Volcano and Haleakala, meaning “House of the Sun.”

Nature and time have sculpted elegant ridges in Maui’s spectacular tropical mountains. Extensive cattle ranches occupy the upland areas of the slopes of Haleakala, while waterfalls cascade in luscious tropical valleys along the Hana Coast. Scattered around its 727 square mile area, Maui has some of the state’s best beaches.
